Black Cat Bakery, London

Black Cat Bakery grew from Suzzle, a gluten-free coffee shop on London’s Brick Lane. Suzzle’s founder, Melanie Denyer, was diagnosed with coeliac disease in 2009. While daunted at first by the number of foods she could not longer eat, greed and curiosity soon won out and her kitchen at home became a laboratory for a range of gluten-free experiments

Since launching, Suzzle has received various accolades. It was included in Siobhan Wall’s Quiet Guide to London, and featured in a five of the best for the FT Weekend Magazine.
